Connection. To me this word is beatifully complex. The state of being connected to ones self, to ones community, and to the world around them is a constant process of transformation, discovery and deepening into what that means to you individually.
Prior to the pandemic I was seriously disconnected from the three components of connection mentioned earlier. I had subconsciously been supressing frustration, sadness, and anxiety. Internally I had become unhappy. I was distracting myself with friends, "fitness", boys, and doing everything I possibly could to avoid conflict.
Then the first lockdown happened, the external noise was scilenced and I was forced to listen, to resolve, and to repair what I had ignored for so long. It was time for a shift. It was time to reconnect. This whole interal work thing wasn't exactly like the instagram reels I love to see on my feed... It totally sucked at first. It was overwhelming and scary to face what I had locked up for so long.
It's been a gradual journey. Filled with many ups and downs and lots of trial and error. I grew to learn that when my intentions were rooted my experience of the world around my transformed for the better. This is when I started to work out to FEEL strong and connected to my body, began cooking and diving into hobbies I actually enjoyed, came back to my practice of yoga and meditation, approched eating intuitively, and reached for my journal more often than my phone.
These internal shifts created the allowence for positive changes to be mirrored back externally. New relationships, oppouturntities, and ideas were presenting themselves which got me to thinking... This journey of reconnection is one that many people are on, yet it can feel quite isolating at times. I hoped to shift this.
I wanted to create an authtetic and open space to share, learn, grow and recconect. To share my passions of creating, yoga, meditation, cooking, aswell as my own process of navigating the everyday ups and downs of life.
I look forward to connecting,
-Cass
